TBS Superstation Newest Franchise Movie Lounge
Premieres With Slate of Celebrity Guests
TBS Superstation's newest hosted franchise Movie Lounge, described as a cross between Siskel & Ebert and Politically Incorrect, launches Saturday, August 29 with a panel of celebrity guests giving their take on 1989's black comedy THE WAR OF THE ROSES. Super model Rebecca Romijn (House of Style), Alyson Hannigan (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Dave Coulier (Full House) and Annabelle Gurwitch (Dinner & a Movie) join host Kent Osborne in a swanky cocktail lounge to toast the movie, starring Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito.
Each week on Movie Lounge, comedian Osborne (previously featured as a recurring guest on the Superstation's Dinner & a Movie) welcomes a group of diverse guests from the world of entertainment and beyond for a roundtable discussion about that night's picture. During breaks in the movie, they comment on the scenes that they have just watched, each providing his/her unique perspective on the flick. All this takes place in a cocktail lounge setting.
Osborne is an actor and writer who can be seen in the 1992 box office smash School Ties, co-starring Brendan Fraser, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. For two years, Osborne has served as writing partner for comedian Rob Schneider. In addition to his recurring appearances on Dinner & a Movie, Osborne has performed in theater in Los Angeles and New York, including the play Lakeboat, directed by Joe Mantegna and starring Ed O'Neill and George Wendt. Osborne's latest project is a brief appearance with Schneider in the upcoming Jean-Claude Van Damme movie, in which, he is none too embarrassed to admit, his voice has been dubbed over.
Movie Lounge is executive produced and directed by Ward McCarthy and Jack Pendarvis. Kelly Cole, vice president/creative director for TBS Superstation on-air promotion, serves as executive in charge of production for the franchise.
TBS Superstation, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.'s flagship network seen in more than 74 million homes, is the most watched network on cable. The Superstation features popular movies, high-profile original programming, outstanding sports and favorite comedies.
